Surveillance Cameras

Hello, Everyone!  I'm sorry that I haven't been posting here for a while.  I am back.  I have been busy having an alarm and surveillance system installed.   I also have been working diligently with Jacques. He is incredibly smart, and is a fantastic companion dog.  He learns extremely quickly and is eager to train and practice.  He and Lula spend hours together, playing.  I also run him alongside my bicycle on the Walkydog for several miles each day.  That tires him out so that he naps and is relaxed during the afternoon.   As the saying goes, "A tired dog is a happy dog."

I am very impressed with the cameras and alarm that I had put on my land and around my home.  The pictures are clear, and I can see and play back what has been going on at all times, from anywhere.  It's amazing how much you don't realize is happening when you are indoors.

Cameras are helpful to see all of the cars, people, and activity on your street.  I can see why law enforcement relies on them for solving crimes.  They pick up everything!  (Including wild animals like coyotes, mountain lions and bobcats.)  Even if you are on vacation, or away from home, you can always review the tape.  You will immediately see who has been near your place and on your street.   They are a fantastic tool, and well worth the expense.

Thank you for your comments.  They add so much talent and energy to the blog.  Please comment in English.  I'm sorry, but those with links will not be published.  If you enjoy the posts here, please share them.  Replies may take a few days to appear; they are moderated.

  1. Hi Stephenie. It's nice to see that you are fit and well. I worry about my blogging friends when they don't post for a prolonged period.

  2. We just had security lights and camera added at work, unfortunately necessary.
Lighter note: sure sounds like Jacques is fitting right in. He's probably a good security system as well :-)

    1. Hi LL, Yes, it was necessary for me, too. You are right. Jacques is a wonderful security system. Lula is actually the one who barks first and is the louder watchdog of the two! He has other qualities, though.

  3. That's great that you had security cameras installed! I had a motion detector light installed on my garage, several years ago but, a surveillance system sounds better!

  5. You will never regret putting in the security cameras. I have often been curious about what sorts of critters go through our yard at night. I know something comes to drink out of our fountain because the water level goes down every night. What is a WalkyDog?

    1. It's fun to see the animals that visit at night. Their eyes shine so brightly in the darkness. One coyote trots down the mountain happily. A Walkydog is a bar that attaches to your bicycle. You hook it to your dog's collar, and can hold both handlebars as you ride the bike. It's a great way to exercise them.

  6. It's Amazing what these cameras pick up isn't it. Our cameras are motion triggered so that we can see immediately who or what triggered them. We have foxes but luckily not bobcats or coyotes 😱 Glad you are safe and well.

  8. It is good to see you back here. Your cameras will be a reassuring security measure but it must also be fascinating to watch the local wildlife. X

  9. It is, Jules. I love seeing them in their natural habitat. I wasn't aware of the variety of animals out there so late at night.

    1. They're excellent, ratnaurti. The wild animals are generally only out when we are sleeping. Sometimes mountain lions do go after people's dogs, though. I am always very careful.
