Grave News

I just found out today that a close friend of mine and her husband are in the hospital with Covid-19.  She is too weak to talk.  I got tears in my eyes as I was reading the email about it.  She is young...in her fifties.  She was always healthy, strong, fit and beautiful.

I spoke with her on the phone for a long time about a month ago.  She told me sadly that she had lost several friends and family members to this virus. At the time she hadn't contacted it.  Her show business pals and I are praying for her.  It's scary how hard and fast Covid hits people.  It reminds me of the 80's, when we lost so many close tribe members who were dancers to AIDS.  They were the last people you ever thought would get ill.  They   died so young.  There was so much that we didn't understand about its transmission at the time.  People would get horribly thin, and then they'd be gone.

I hope you are all safe and well.  Suze Orman had an excellent podcast on her website today.  It was very eye opening.  You can listen to it at https:suzeorman.com.  Just look for the most recent podcast with today's date.  She talks about all of the fast food that she ate, and how she wishes that she had made healthier dietary choices and had done yoga.  Those habits really do make a difference, and the effect is cumulative, like saving money. I hope you are all in good heath and high spirits.

  1. I am so very sorry to hear about your friends. It is so true what you say about the speed of this virus. My Granddaughter (age 28), husband and two children (age 5 and 7) all have covid. At home with manageable symptoms. They were very compliant with all precautions but they think the transmission was the school bus driver. They are young and improving. It certainly is no joke! I am being very careful and only leave home when I must. I worked in the hospital (R.N.) in the 70's when the swine flu was an issue. But, nothing like this. Please take good care of yourself. I'll be sending positive energy your way and also for your friends regained health. I'm a California gal, too. Raised in San Gabriel Valley. Blessings

  4. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Earlier this year my friend was very ill in hospital with Covid 19. I honestly think she wouldn't be here now if she hadn't been taken into hospital in time. It's a dreadful virus and I really hope that the vaccines start to work quickly. Stay safe out there. x

  8. So sorry! I hope your friend and her husband recovers! I watched Suze a couple of times this weekend. I'm studying up on the revocable living trust that she recommends. I agree that what we've done in the past such as the foods we ate, affect our health now and it would have been nice to have had better habits in the past. Andrea

    1. I have one of those, Andrea. It really makes life easier after someone passes. My parents had one, too. My friends who went through probate said that it was a nightmare. Diet and exercise really do have long term effects. I was fortunate to live with a former Royal Ballet ballerina who taught me about diet and fresh vegetables when I was eighteen. The difference was immediate.

  14. So sorry to hear about your friend and her husband. This thing is spreading like our wildfires!
By the way, I heard on the news today that SoCalEdison might be cutting power to certain areas, including Santa Clarita, due to the high winds. Thought I'll let you know, just in case you didn't receive an alert in time, like last time!
