One of my favorite rituals is to sit by the window each morning, sip a mug of coffee, and watch the sunrise. It is steady, reliable, and the colors of the sky are always different. The backdrop of mountains and trees make it even more beautiful. I enjoy the discipline of rising before dawn. Before heading upstairs to bed at night, I set up the copper tea kettle, French press, and grind the coffee beans. I add cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg and cloves to the grounds.
What's your coffee or tea ritual?

It sounds utter bliss.
ReplyDeleteI come down, start the coffee in the Nespresso Beth gave me for Christmas and empty the dishwasher (if it's finished) while that's making. I always have the dishwasher going overnight to take advantage of the cheaper electricity.
Then I grab my coffee, come into the living room and start my bloggy chats with all of you!
A great start to the day but yours sounds lovelier.
xx
What a wonderful routine, Joy. Coffee is a great ritual.
DeleteWhat a lovely start to your mornings. Xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jules. It is. The dogs love it, too.
DeleteIs Lula laying on her back? I think those doggies have a pretty swell life! I always set up our morning coffee the evening before. The old reliable Cuisinart brewer has a timer, so it is ready when I come down-usually 4:45 to 5:00am. I love my french press and use it every night after dinner for our evening coffee. No sugar or cream-always just black. I used to add spices to our coffee many years ago and should try it again. I had forgotten about it. I love seeing the sun rise every morning. Also the sun set every evening.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely, Anita. Watching the sun set each evening is wonderful. I enjoyed that on the ship last week. Yes, that is Lula lolling on her back.
DeleteDawn and dusk are my favourite times of day. I turn out the lights and Just Be. I also like to do some light yoga and meditation. After coffee, of course, in the early morning.
ReplyDeleteMine, too, ratnamurti. I love doing yoga before bed. It's so relaxing.
DeleteYou have a lovely view of the sunrise and two great companions with whom to watch it! :) I used to catch a glimpse of the sunrise way back when, in the days when I'd drive my daughter to school before going to work! These days, I tend to sleep in. But, I enjoy watching the sunset. :)
ReplyDeleteI drink tea - a Sri Lankan tea that I drink in my favorite cup and saucer set (never in a mug) with milk and sugar - and say my morning prayers; that's my morning ritual. Oh, and I feed the cats (and the neighbor's chicken who seems to spend most of its day in my yard and eats the garden cat's food!)
Thank you, Bless. I agree. What a calming morning ritual you have. The chicken sounds cute. I love chickens.
DeleteI get up each morning and usually have a glass of water before meeting my friend for our walk at 7.30. Then we play five games of rummikub alternating which house we play in. We have a glass of water while playing as I can't stand the taste of tea since I had covid.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting, Cherie. It sounds like Covid affected your taste buds. I hope they recover.
DeleteGreat blog
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rajani. And welcome...
