Today we learned that the Bobcat Fire is 50% contained. They are using water from Jackson Lake to fight it. I raked up several more bags of pine needles this morning. I took a swim in the lake at the country club, and it was so refreshing! I didn't expect for them to be open, but they were. I wish the fire fighters continued success, and am so thankful to them for all of their labor and sweat. They work so hard!
That is good news that it is 50% contained! I hope they are able to get it all under control, sooner than later. I'm glad you were able to get in another swim in the lake! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless. The lake was just lovely. There weren't many people there. After this weekend we will have to wait until next year.
DeleteThat is so good to hear! I have had to step away from following some such things as they "get to me." I am extremely grateful for the rains we've had and the gaining of control over the fires.
ReplyDeleteAh...rain is a wonderful thing. I'm sure your garden is flourishing.
DeleteFirefighters work so very hard under such horrible conditions. I have such admiration for them. Let's hope the Bobcat Fire fight continues to be effective. Stay safe and healthy.
ReplyDeleteI admire them, too, Anita. They are in very difficult circumstances right now. I just read an article in the LA Times about how understaffed they are.
DeleteYay! I was so glad when I heard. Those firefighters really do work hard! Thank goodness for their willingness to be firefighters.
ReplyDeleteThey sure do, Kari. They give so much to the public.
DeleteSuch good news, praying the fires will be out soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope so, too, mm. The Bobcat Fire is now estimated to be out by September 30th, which is a huge improvement.
DeleteThose firefighters are such brave people aren't they. I worry when I read about that kind of fire. It must be absolutely terrifying to know it's so close. Take care and keep safe.
ReplyDeleteThey're doing a terrific job, Cherie. They hope to have it fully contained by Wednesday.
DeleteThat's great news, Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
I think so, too, Nil. Thanks.
